  • Resumen es exacto "The need to optimize the performance of optical encoders based on non diffractive beams (NDB) has led to the design and construction of a photodetector integrated circuit that can synthesize the needed detectivity pattern. In this work, this chip was implemented on an NDB based optical encoder to check its performance. The design worked properly, however, the photodetector center has to be aligned with the center of NDB with micrometric tolerances. In order to automatize the alignment process, a second chip was designed and fabricated. This second chip has the ability to interconnect their pixels in an arbitrary manner, allowing this way that the detectivity pattern can be synthetized around the NDB center. The chip was characterized and it was also implemented on the NDB optical encoder. A dedicated control unit that automatizes the process was designed, described in VHDL, prototyped on FPGA and tested. Finally, other applications spinned-off from the pixel interconnection capability of the chip were implemented with promising results."
