Este proyecto fue desarrollado en el marco del programa de vinculación laboral entre Smartium S.A. y la Carrera de Especialización en Sistemas Embebidos de la UBA. El sistema desarrollado es capaz de recopilar datos de humedad de suelo y transmitirlos a través de una red inalámbrica de largo alcance. En este documento se presenta el diseño, desarrollo y prueba de una plataforma de calibración de medidores inteligentes de energía realizada para la empresa GEO Technologies SAS. La misma está basada en tecnología FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array, Matriz de Puertas Programables) y tiene como objetivo reducir costos debido al servicio extra por calibración. Para el desarrollo del hardware se utilizaron métodos y prácticas de diseño, fabricación, ensamble e inspección de circuitos impresos recomendadas en las normas IPC (Institute for Printed Circuits). Se utilizó el lenguaje VHDL para realizar las pruebas unitarias de cada uno de los módulos y se realizaron pruebas de simulación previa, utilizando la herramienta Vivado® Simulator de Xilinx. Por último, se embebió y se programó un softcore microblaze utilizando el lenguaje C y se utilizó una herramienta de control de versiones.
