La intensificación de la producción en los sistemas ganaderos origina el aumento en la cantidad de residuos líquidos y sólidos, provocando un impacto negativo sobre los recursos naturales. La digestión anaeróbica representa un proceso apropiado para tratar y valorizar los efluentes ganaderos como fuente de energía renovable. En el año 2006 el gobierno Argentino promulgó una ley de promoción a la generación eléctrica mediante fuentes de energías renovables. Consecuentemente, las investigaciones con respecto al uso de biogás mediante la utilización de efluentes ganaderos han comenzado a tener gran relevancia. La co-digestión se define como la mezcla de dos tipos de residuos con el objetivo de mejorar la eficiencia de la digestión anaeróbica. El glicerol, es un subproducto generado en la producción de biodiesel con ventajas para ser utilizado como cosustrato. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el tratamiento de un efluente vacuno, proveniente de un tambo intensificado, a partir de la codigestión anaerobia con glicerol y su posterior tratamiento por un sistema de humedal artificial (HA) vertical seguido por uno horizontal de tipo sub superficial. Para ello, se realizó un ensayo en reactores anaeróbicos mesofílicos de 5L de capacidad, con alimentación diaria. Inicialmente, los reactores fueron inoculados y su velocidad de carga orgánica (VCO) se aumentó, gradualmente, hasta alcanzar la carga deseada (1,5 Kg DQO/m3*día). Los tratamientos fueron efluente vacuno sin glicerol (EVSG), con 3 % (EV3G) y 6 % (EV6G) de glicerol. El producto digerido obtenido a la salida de los reactores anaeróbicos fue tratado por HA. Los resultados mostraron que el aumento de VCO gradual, evita la inestabilidad por acumulación de ácidos grasos volátiles. Por otro lado, el agregado de glicerol aumentó el rendimiento de metano en un 337% y 661% para EV3G y EV6G, respectivamente. Así mismo, en los tratamientos con co-sustrato se incrementaron los porcentajes de remoción de materia orgánica como de organismos patogénicos. Por último, l tratamiento del digerido mediante el HA mostró ser eficiente en la remoción de la materia orgánica, el fósforo, turbidez y los cationes evaluados. Los resultados demostraron que el glicerol es un co-sustrato adecuado para ser utilizado en el tratamiento de efluentes vacunos y que el humedal artificial es un sistema adecuado para el post tratamiento del digerido. Las curvas Intensidad-Duración-período de Retorno (IDR) son una de las herramientas más utilizadas para la estimación de tormentas de diseño para distintos tipos de obras hidráulicas y de infraestructura, así como también son el principal dato de entrada para la modelación hidrológico-hidráulica utilizada para la determinación de zonas de riesgo de inundación y otros usos en la planificación del territorio. Las curvas IDR, para un determinado lugar, brindan intensidades medias de precipitación en función de la duración de la tormenta y del período de retorno asociado. Existe hoy en día una problemática a la hora de estimar los parámetros de estas curvas, consistente principalmente en la dificultad de encontrar información pluviográfica con la longitud de registro lo suficientemente prolongada tal que permita hacer un análisis estadístico robusto y confiable. En los últimos años, en Argentina y en otros países del mundo, la cantidad de estaciones pluviográficas no sólo resulta escasa sino que también va en descenso. Además, muchas de éstas tienen historias de registro de corta longitud, lo cual impide su utilización para hacer dicho análisis. En esta tesis se ha analizado la posibilidad de elaborar curvas IDR a partir de estimaciones remotas de precipitación de la Misión satelital TRMM. Los productos de esta Misión se encuentran disponibles de manera gratuita para gran parte del globo terrestre. En este estudio se ha utilizado el producto 3B42 v7, que brinda estimaciones de intensidad media de precipitación con una resolución temporal de 3 horas y una longitud de registro de 17 años. A partir de estos datos, y mediante la elaboración de un análisis estadístico, se han construido curvas IDR. Se ha evaluado la bondad de este análisis en 6 ciudades de la República Argentina con disponibilidad de registros de precipitación in situ y curvas IDR elaboradas por otros autores, de forma tal de comparar los resultados obtenidos mediante la utilización de los datos de la Misión TRMM frente a la utilización de otras fuentes de datos utilizados habitualmente en el ámbito de la ingeniería hidráulica ante la falta de curvas IDR en el sitio de implantación del proyecto o zonas aledañas. Para cuantificar esta comparación, se ha dimensionado un conducto pluvial tipo utilizando las distintas curvas IDR, y se ha realizado una estimación del impacto económico que tiene la utilización de estos datos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la utilización de las estimaciones de intensidad de precipitación de la Misión TRMM arrojan diferencias, con respecto a la fuente pluviográfica, del mismo orden de magnitud que los obtenidos a partir de la utilización de registros pluviométricos (diarios, a hora fija) ubicados en la periferia del área de estudio. Consecuentemente, la principal conclusión es que las fuentes alternativas de precipitación, como la satelital analizada, podrían resultar de gran utilidad para dar respuesta a la problemática de falta de datos in situ, a la que muchas veces se enfrentan los proyectistas de obras hidráulicas, especialmente en los casos en que el período de retorno de diseño es menor a los 20 años The Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDR) curves are one of the most commonly used tools in the determination of design storms, which are the main input for the design of different hydraulic and infrastructure projects. Also, IDR curves are widely used in hydrological and hydraulic modelling for flood mapping and territory planning. These curves are defined as a function that relates mean rainfall intensity with its duration and return period. However, the nonexistence of a long history of recording rain gauge data, essential for a reliable and robust statistical analysis, jeopardizes the application of the mentioned methods. In Argentina and other developing countries, the number of recording rain gauges is not only reduced but has also decreased in the last decades. Furthermore, many recording stations have incomplete or short records, and are consequently not suitable for the analysis. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the viability of using Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) precipitation estimates to build IDR curves. This Mission offers different kind of products, particularly rain rate estimates over vast areas of the Earth’s surface, which are freely available online. In this case, the 3B42 v7 product was used, which contains rainfall rate estimates with a three-hour temporal resolution and a seventeen-year record. Given the above, a methodology for IDR curves elaboration using these data was developed. In order to test the reliability of the estimates, six case studies were defined for different cities of Argentina, where long term pluviometric data (i.e. non-recording daily readings) as well as reliable IDR curves developed by other authors are available. With these data, it is possible to contrast the IDR curves derived from TRMM data with those of other sources usually utilized by engineers for hydraulic projects when conventional IDR curves are not available in the area. Additionally, as another quantitative approach, a storm drain has been sized using the different IDR curves in order to compare the resulting diameters, all other variables (storm duration and shape, basin characteristics, conduit features) kept constant. Furthermore,a cost estimate was done in order to quantify the incremental or decremental economic impact of using these remote-sensing estimates. The results obtained show that the difference between using TRMM precipitation estimates and pluviometric data is negligible with respect to the recording rain gauge data. The main conclusion is that alternative sources, like the satellite precipitation estimates utilized in this thesis, proved beneficial to overcome the lack of in situ rain gauge data and, consequently, constitute a valid tool for the hydraulic engineer, especially for projects where the design return period is less than 20 years. Los colectores solares térmicos son dispositivos que utilizan la radiación solar para calentar un fluido, para aplicaciones de agua caliente sanitaria, calefacción de ambientes, de piscinas, procesos industriales, etc. La diferencia principal con los dispositivos convencionales basados en combustibles fósiles es que los colectores solares no contaminan el medio ambiente con gases de efecto invernadero. En Argentina existen normas dedicadas para mejorar el desempeño y la durabilidad de los colectores. Una de estas normas es la IRAM 210007:2017, en la cual se describen los ensayos que deben realizarse para comprobar la durabilidad de los colectores. El aporte innovador de esta tesis, a nivel país, es el desarrollo de un diseño propio con materiales y costos locales, para que cualquier laboratorio de energía solar existente pueda aplicarlo para construir sus propios dispositivos para realizar los ensayos de durabilidad. Un desafío para la industria de alimentos es conciliar la demanda del consumidor de alimentos más saludables con la demanda simultánea de comodidad y calidad del producto, incluidas la textura y el sabor. El presente trabajo explora la factibilidad de fortificar con polifenoles un alimento conocido por sus cualidades nutricionales y consumido popularmente, como es el yogur, sin modificar en gran medida sus características organolépticas, físicas y estructurales. Adicionalmente, se evaluaron dos métodos de incorporación de los polifenoles: de manera directa y vehiculizados en partículas proteicas WPC-gelatina. Se elaboraron seis formulaciones de yogur firme: tres de ellas con partículas proteicas WPCpolifenol-gelatina con distintas concentraciones de polifenoles (0,025; 0,05 y 0,1 % p/p), una sin partículas con polifenol (0,1 % p/p), un control sin agregados de partículas ni polifenol y un control con partículas proteicas WPC-gelatina sin polifenol. A lo largo de la vida útil de los yogures se analizaron las características relacionadas con la estructura (capacidad de retención de agua, parámetros texturales, reológicos y microestructura) de los mismos, la viabilidad de las bacterias lácticas, y la capacidad antioxidante de los polifenoles. Finalmente, se determinó la bioaccesibilidad de los mismos luego de una digestión gastroduodenal in vitro. Los resultados de este trabajo demostraron que independientemente del método de adición de los polifenoles, éstos no modificaron en gran medida el color del yogur, ni la viabilidad de las bacterias ácido lácticas. Sin embargo, se observó que la adición de polifenoles, generó un yogur con una estructura más interconectada que el yogur control, lo que fue atribuido a la capacidad de los polifenoles de interactuar con las proteínas lácteas. Esta estructura más interconectada podría explicar la mayor capacidad de retención de agua y los mayores valores de firmeza, adhesividad y cohesividad observados en este yogur. Además, la incorporación de partículas proteicas incrementó más aún estos parámetros por el mayor contenido proteico presente en dichas formulaciones. En relación a las propiedades bioactivas de los polifenoles se observó que luego de la digestión gastroduodenal se obtuvo una alta bioaccesibilidad de los mismos, manteniendo su actividad antioxidante. Por lo tanto, se puede concluir que es factible la fortificación de yogur con polifenoles de té verde para el desarrollo de un alimento funcional. La Neurología Conductual y la Neuropsicología han provisto un nuevo marco de comprensión para los procesos de aprendizaje y entrenamiento, que son enriquecidos por las tecnologías modernas de diferentes formas. Los simuladores brindan experiencias significativas a estos fines desde sus formas más primitivas. La Realidad Virtual y la Realidad Aumentada, finalmente, ofrecen un nuevo espectro de posibilidades para el diseño de experiencias significativas, en tanto que los modernos Motores de Juegos proveen un nuevo enfoque basado en paradigmas y patrones clásicos, en muchos campos. Ambas tecnologías, Realidad Virtual con controladores de mano libre y Realidad Aumentada combinada con un enfoque de Internet de las Cosas, permiten diseñar experiencias de entrenamiento y enseñanza más cercanas a la realidad, asunto que ha sido del mayor interés en los distintos campos de aplicación de simuladores. El propósito de este trabajo, en primer lugar, es proponer un marco para el diseño de experiencias de capacitación y entrenamiento basado en estas tecnologías y en las ciencias del conocimiento modernas, considerando algunas cuestiones estratégicas para el desarrollo de simuladores en general. Con este marco, en segundo lugar, el propósito de este trabajo es también desarrollar, analizar y validar dos casos de estudio. El primer caso consiste en un escenario de evacuación de instalaciones durante un corte de energía, implementado sobre Realidad Virtual, y el segundo caso en un modelo de contaminación cruzada, implementado en una escena de Realidad Aumentada con objetos interactivos a partir de técnicas de Internet de las Cosas, para casos de entrenamiento de alta fidelidad en intervención de agentes de seguridad especializados en crisis CBRN (del inglés, agentes Químicos, Biológicos, Radiológicos y Nucleares), durante un incidente con material radiológico en un laboratorio clandestino. La mayoría de los metales expuestos a la acción del ambiente sufren transformaciones fisicoquímicas que los degradan, reducen su utilidad y llegan a destruirlos. Los fenómenos que originan estos cambios se agrupan en el concepto de corrosión, o, con mayor amplitud, en el de deterioro de materiales. Entre los diferentes métodos que se han ido desarrollando para mitigar el efecto de la corrosión, los recubrimientos metálicos se caracterizan no sólo por otorgar resistencia a la degradación de un sustrato, sino también para mejorar algunas propiedades de la superficie tales como aspecto, adhesión, características de mojado, resistencia al desgaste y al rayado, entre muchas otras. Este trabajo de investigación ofrece información extensa de un tipo especial de recubrimiento metálico, el de la aleación zinc-níquel, que proporciona una excelente protección contra la corrosión, aún a altas temperaturas. Es por eso que el uso de este tipo de aleación está extendido desde hace muchos años en la industria automotriz, aeroespacial y de la construcción. Lo novedoso de este trabajo es el análisis de las propiedades de estas aleaciones que se han preparado usando baños de electrodepósito tradicionales, en soluciones concentradas y en las concentraciones de los componentes, que son el resultado de mucho trabajo de investigación.
