Resumen: El objetivo de este trabajo de tesis fue estudiar la corrosión atmosférica de aleaciones base cobre, evaluando el efecto de los principales contaminantes presentes en la composición de la atmósfera de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, en relación a la conservación de monumentos expuestos a la intemperie. Los resultados obtenidos a partir de medidas in situ, en una primera etapa del trabajo, se completan con estudios de laboratorio en los que se evaluó el efecto de los contaminantes urbanos de mayor acción corrosiva sobre aleaciones de composición similar a las de los monumentos estudiados.
