El proposito de esta tesis es el desarrollo de algoritmos de calibracion interna para el Satelite Argentino de Observacion Con Microondas 1A (SAOCOM) en el segmento terreno. El SAOCOM 1A es el primer satelite argentino de observacion terrestre equipado con un radar de apertura sintetica (SAR) polarimetrico, que funciona en la banda L. Junto con el SAOCOM 1B y con cuatro satelites de la Constelacion Italiana COSMO-SkyMed, se conformara una constelacion para observar la tierra de una forma unica en el mundo. Esta constelacion recibe el nombre de Sistema Italo Argentino de Satelites para la Gestion de Emergencias (SIAGSE). Este conjunto de satelites permitira obtener informacion certera y actualizada de incendios, inundaciones, erupciones, terremotos, avalanchas, derrumbes y deslaves. Ademas, como los seis satelites se encontraran ubicados en orbitas polares a la misma altura y en distintos planos orbitales, el conjunto poseera un enorme ancho de vision sobre la tierra. Esto permitira el seguimiento de la evolucion de catastrofes en tiempo casi real, ya que se obtendra informacion cada 12 horas. El desarrollo de la mision SAOCOM esta a cargo de la Comision Nacional de Actividades Espaciales (CONAE), esta tesis forma parte de un proyecto articulado entre SUR emprendimientos tecnologicos y CONAE. Dado que las imagenes SAR proporcionan propiedades fisicas especificas de la tierra contenidas en los valores de un pixel, resulta muy importante y necesario calibrar correctamente el satelite. La presente tesis de grado tiene como objetivo calibrar adecuadamente las señales de radar de transmision y recepcion en el segmento terreno, compensando los desvios producidos en vuelo por algunos circuitos del satelite, los cambios de temperatura, el ruido de radio frecuencias, y la radiacion, entre otras cosas. Su compensacion permite que el SAR continue proveyendo imagenes calibradas a lo largo de su vida util en la orbita.
