Este trabajo presenta una primera evaluación del nuevo sistema de monitoreo de vibraciones Wireless desarrollado en conjunto entre el Laboratorio de Dinámica de Estructuras y el Departamento de Electrónica de la Facultad en términos de su capacidad para ser utilizado en la actualización de modelos computacionales de puentes a partir de ensayos dinámicos. En primer lugar se discuten las técnicas de caracterización dinámica de estructuras a partir del análisis modal operacional en el dominio de la frecuencia. También se estudian algunas de las metodologías de actualización de modelos disponibles en la literatura, poniendo énfasis en aquellas empleadas en puentes. Luego, se lleva adelante la caracterización de los sensores que componen el nuevo sistema de monitoreo, comparando su desempeño contra el de acelerómetros comerciales comúnmente utilizados en el Laboratorio. Dado que las técnicas de caracterización dinámica más robustas exigen que las mediciones de los distintos puntos de la estructura estén perfectamente sincronizadas, se evalúa también la calidad de la sincronización que permite el sistema Wireless y su estabilidad en el tiempo. Las pruebas sugieren que el rango de frecuencias en el que mejor desempeño presenta este nuevo sistema es adecuado para llevar adelante la caracterización dinámica de estructuras civiles. Las técnicas de caracterización dinámica y las metodologías de actualización de modelos se implementan en dos etapas: en un modelo de pequeñas dimensiones en el marco controlado de un laboratorio y en un puente real. Ambas estructuras, pudieron ser caracterizadas experimentalmente a partir de ensayos dinámicos con el nuevo sistema Wireless; se obtuvieron las frecuencias y los modos de vibración naturales. Posteriormente, sus modelos computacionales son actualizados de forma automatizada variando ciertas características del modelo hasta lograr que los parámetros modales experimentales y analíticos coincidan. De esta forma se obtiene un modelo numérico actualizado que refleja de mejor manera el comportamiento real de la estructura. El proceso de medición, procesado y documentación es realizado en forma autónoma, sin requerir la intervención del operador. La técnica de medición de difusividad térmica, denominada “Microscopía Fototérmica Confocal” (MFC) fue desarrollada en el Laboratorio de Haces Dirigidos y permite la medición de la difusividad térmica mediante dos haces de luz de diferente longitud de onda. La técnica presenta alta resolución espacial y es no destructiva. Se presenta el diseño y la fabricación de dos prototipos de microscopios fototérmicos adaptativos, cuyas prestaciones se validan mediante estudios sobre diversas muestras. La originalidad de los desarrollos propuestos reside en la capacidad de adaptarse automáticamente a la topografía de las muestras, logrando mediciones que no requieren alterar la naturaleza de las mismas. Se ha desarrollado un software de control con algoritmos de optimización propios con los cuales se modifican las posiciones de las lentes que componen a los sistemas ópticos de los equipos permitiendo la medición. Se desarrolló un lenguaje de programación diseñado para la confección de protocolos de alineación óptica y medición fototérmica, proporcionando así un enfoque altamente personalizado y adaptable a las necesidades experimentales. A su vez se ha desarrollado un simulador fototérmico que posee la capacidad de recrear los fenómenos térmicos y ópticos inherentes a la técnica de MFC, dando la posibilidad a estudiar el comportamiento de las señales fototérmicas bajo diversas situaciones y condiciones. En conjunto con los prototipos, estos avances permiten incorporar la técnica de MFC al ámbito de la caracterización de materiales, proveyendo una técnica no destructiva, que no requiere una preparación de la muestra a medir. The following thesis presents two new developments of equipment for the measurement of thermal diffusivity at micrometer scale on complex surfaces. The measurement, processing and documentation process is performed autonomously, without requiring operator intervention. The thermal diffusivity measurement technique, called “Confocal Photothermal Microscopy” (CPM) was developed in the Directed Beams Laboratory (Laboratorio de Haces Dirigidos) and allows the measurement of thermal diffusivity by means of two light beams of different wavelengths. The technique has high spatial resolution and is non-destructive. The design and fabrication of two innovative prototypes of adaptive photothermal microscopes are presented, whose performance is validated through studies on various samples. The originality of the proposed developments relies on the ability to automatically adapt to the topography of the samples, achieving measurements that do not require altering the nature of the samples. A control software has been developed with its own optimization algorithms with which the positions of the lenses that compose the optical systems of the equipment are modified, allowing the measurement. A programming language exclusively designed for the preparation of optical alignment and photothermal measurement protocols has been developed, thus providing a highly customized and adaptable approach to the experimental needs. At the same time, a photothermal simulator has been developed that has the capacity to recreate all the thermal and optical phenomena inherent to the CPM technique, giving the possibility to study the behavior of the photothermal signals under different situations and conditions. Together with the prototypes, these advances allow incorporating the CPM technique to the field of materials characterization, providing a non-destructive technique that does not require preparation of the sample to be measured. Title A name given to the resource Sistemas de referencia en geodesia física y su realización en Argentina Description An account of the resource La realización del Sistema de Referencia Geodésico Global (GGRS), establecido en la Resolución A/RES/69/266 de Naciones Unidas, requiere la definición de sistemas de referencia físicos que permitan la descripción del Sistema Tierra, no solo a través de su geometría y su orientación en el espacio, sino también del campo de gravedad y sus variaciones en el tiempo. Para esto, es necesaria la definición de dos nuevos sistemas de referencia que complementen al Sistema de Referencia Internacional Celeste (ICRS) y al Sistema de Referencia Internacional Terrestre (ITRS). Estos nuevos sistemas se definen como el Sistema de Referencia Internacional de Alturas (IHRS) y el Sistema de Referencia Internacional de Gravedad Terrestre (ITGRS). La realización de estos sistemas permite el estudio y monitoreo de los cambios globales de la Tierra. En este sentido, el Marco de Referencia Internacional de Alturas (IHRF), como realización del IHRS, permite la unificación de los sistemas de alturas existentes a partir de la definición de un marco de referencia global, unificado y de alta precisión y estabilidad, a través de un conjunto de estaciones de referencia distribuidas de forma homogénea en el mundo con números geopotenciales conocidos referidos al IHRS. El Marco de Referencia Internacional de Gravedad Terrestre (ITGRF), como materialización del ITGRS, está definido a partir de observaciones de gravedad absolutas en estaciones de referencia donde sea posible el monitoreo continuo de variaciones del campo de gravedad de la Tierra y una accesibilidad al marco en cualquier tiempo. Title A name given to the resource Aplicación de la altimetría satelital láser a la determinación de variaciones locales del nivel del mar Description An account of the resource El trabajo presenta el procesamiento de datos de altimetría láser, particularmente los obtenidos por el satélite ICESat-2, y su implementación para el estudio hidrodinámico de la Bahía San Julián. Las observaciones de altimetría permiten estimar la precisión de los modelos de mareas globales en la zona de estudio, al comparar las alturas predichas por los mismos con las observadas. En última instancia, se logra determinar el modelo que mejor se ajusta a los niveles de agua observados por ICESat-2. Los resultados obtenidos prueban la utilidad de la altimetría láser para el estudio de regiones costeras, incentivando nuevas y diversas aplicaciones en casos de difícil monitoreo del nivel de agua.
