La actividad solar tiene una gran influencia sobre la vida en la Tierra. Nuestro planeta posee su propio campo magnético que se ve afectado por el viento solar, por su densidad y por su velocidad. A medida que se desarrollan nuevas tecnologías que dependen en cierta medida de un comportamiento normal del campo magnético terrestre, cualquier perturbación del mismo ocasionará problemas para la utilización de las mismas. Aunque no es posible conocer cuándo ocurrirá una tormenta solar, se sabe que el Sol se encuentra en su máxima actividad entre 2024 y 2025. Cuando una perturbación proveniente del Sol origina una tormenta geomagnética, diversos sistemas sufren las consecuencias. Entre ellos, el sistema global de navegación por satélite (GNSS). Las señales de este sistema deben atravesar la ionosfera, que se ve alterada en su cantidad total de electrones, por lo que la trayectoria de las señales puede ser muy distinta de la esperada. En este trabajo se estudia el efecto de las perturbaciones geomagnéticas en las mediciones con GNSS, a partir de la comparación de las coordenadas resultantes de una medición diferencial, con las coordenadas “verdaderas” de un punto. Se realizaron procesamientos para días tranquilos y perturbados, tomando algunos vectores cortos y otros largos de la red RAMSAC, en distintas regiones de la República Argentina. Se analizaron los desvíos en latitud, longitud y altura, se analizó sus desviaciones en el día de la tormenta respecto del día anterior para comparar. Estudios de la ionosfera y del TEC o Conteo Total de Electrones reforzaron los resultados. Los desvíos GNSS fueron más pronunciados el 11 de mayo y dependieron de la ubicación y orientación de los vectores. En particular, para la tormenta geomagnética del 11 de mayo se observa que en el norte de Argentina los desvíos son mayores que en el centro y el sur, lo cual podría deberse a la cercanía al ecuador magnético y a la influencia de las variaciones del campo magnético terrestre, que son más intensas de norte a sur en esta región durante el otoño en el hemisferio sur. Además, se destaca que los vectores con orientación norte-sur presentan mayores desvíos que aquellos con orientación este-oeste, alineándose con la dirección de las perturbaciones magnéticas predominantes. Las desviaciones máximas se registraron en la componente de longitud, alcanzando hasta un metro en el norte, mientras que en altura y latitud los desvíos fueron menores, con máximos de 56 cm y 17 cm, respectivamente. Se revisan los puntos débiles de las tecnologías descartadas, y se presenta una metodología multifisíca (magnetotelúrica de tensor completo, tomografía de resistividad eléctrica y gravedad) efectiva en prospección de salares, validándose la misma en el salar de Pozuelos. La interpretación geofísica está en concordancia con los pozos de exploración someros y profundos; además, se integraron la magnetotelúrica y la gravedad a través de la construcción de pseudo-pozos. Finalmente, la integración de datos geofísicos y de pozo permitió la construcción de un modelo estático en Pozuelos, que encuentra en 900 metros de profundidad la zona más profunda del basamento y discrimina ocho litofacies.
