La motivación principal es la obtención de esquemas que permitan reducir la redundancia de forma tal de optimizar la eficiencia espectral del sistema. Esto lleva a un problema de optimización muy complejo. En esta tesis se derivan algoritmos que permiten la resolución numérica de dicho problema de optimización. La performance de los diseños propuestos es evaluada y comparada con la correspondiente a otras soluciones presentes en la literatura especializada. Dado que los diseños propuestos necesitan el conocimiento del canal, en una segunda parte de la tesis se deriva un algoritmo adaptativo para la identificación del canal. Este algoritmo tiene la propiedad de que es sumamente robusto por lo que puede trabajar en situaciones severas ruido. Incluso puede tratar con el difícil caso en el que existe ruido impulsivo. Los méritos de este algoritmo son mostrados mediante simulaciones numéricas y mediante la obtención de modelos estocásticos para la dinámica del mismo. The present document introduces the research and implementation of different detection methods done on the capture platform of the Telecom Bretagne school of engineering in Brest, France. The methods developed are purely statistical based and as a premise, the payload of the packets can’t be used in order to perform the detection. As Internet becomes a social phenomenon, more services are using the network to work. ISPs and enterprises need a tool to classify traffic and in this way decide what to do with each flow of information. It will be seen how former and quite simple detection methods became obsolete, and the new different approaches to solve this problem. The developed methods will take different identifiers from the traffic captured and use different models to identify the kind of information flow, based on a prior learning process this platform must be put through. The learning process will result in different signatures which stand for each service. A Theoretical introduction to every concept used to develop the methods is included, as long as two large appendixes which describe how to configure, run and modify the application implemented. Finally, conclusions will be presented as well as the issues and considerations the ongoing research project should address in the future. The appendixes are the guides written to help the users and developers work with the developed application. El objetivo de la tesis fue evaluar la efectividad de la fotocatálisis heterogénea con TiO2 para el tratamiento del contaminante Cr(VI) en fase acuosa, a través de su transformación en la especie no tóxica Cr(III). Se analizó la efectividad de la fotocatálisis heterogénea con TiO2 bajo luz UV para la reducción de Cr(VI) con el agregado de ácido cítrico (Cit) como agente donor de electrones. Se evaluó el efecto en la velocidad de diferentes relaciones molares iniciales Cit/Cr(VI) (RM) (Cr(VI) = 0,8 mM, 0 / RM / 500), encontrándose que la adición de Cit facilita la reducción fotocatalítica, y que la velocidad de transformación de Cr(VI) es función de RM, con un valor óptimo de RM de 1,25, aunque se obtuvieron velocidades de reducción mayores a RM = 500. Se estudió también el efecto del pH en la reducción de Cr(VI) para RM = 2,5, observándose que, a medida que aumenta el pH, la reducción es más lenta, y que se produce un cambio en la cinética de reducción de Cr(VI) de un comportamiento de primer orden (pH 2) a uno de tipo biexponencial (3 / pH /6). Se observó que, una vez reducido totalmente el Cr(VI), la degradación de Cit y la reducción de NPOC se detienen, lo que podría deberse a una inactivación del catalizador por la deposición de Cr(III) en su superficie. Se estudió el sistema TiO2/Cr(VI)/Cit por resonancia electrónica paramagnética (RPE), lo que permitió dilucidar las etapas iniciales de la reducción de Cr(VI). Se confirmó que la reducción se inicia por un proceso monoelectrónico que forma Cr(V), el cual se combina con Cit formando el complejo Cr(V)-Cit2. Las determinaciones cuantitativas indican que aproximadamente 10% del Cr(VI) reducido se transforma en Cr(V)-Cit2 y que, al incrementarse la relación molar Cit/Cr(VI), la velocidad de formación de Cr(V)-Cit2 aumenta hasta llegar a un máximo a RM = 2,5, mientras que la velocidad de desaparición del complejo disminuye a medida que aumenta RM, debido a una mayor estabilidad del mismo a mayores concentraciones de Cit. La fracción de Cr(VI) transformada en Cr(V)-Cit2 es independiente de la concentración inicial de Cr(VI), mientras que disminuye a medida que aumenta el pH. La evolución temporal de Cr(V)-Cit2 se ajustó a un modelo de cinética de formación y desaparición sucesivas de primer orden. También se estudió la efectividad de la fotocatálisis heterogénea con TiO2 modificado con ftalocianina tricarboximonoamida de hidroxoaluminio (AlTCPc), un colorante orgánico, para la reducción de Cr(VI) bajo irradiación visible (> > 500 nm), XIV usando 4-clorofenol (4-CP) como agente donor de electrones. Se evaluó la importancia del TiO2 modificado como soporte activo del colorante por comparación de la actividad fotocatalítica con una muestra equivalente donde se adsorbió el colorante sobre alúmina (Al2O3), un soporte inerte. Se observó que, bajo irradiación visible, la reducción fotocatalítica de Cr(VI) sólo tenía lugar cuando se usó la muestra de TiO2 modificado con el colorante (TiO2-AlTCPc), con independencia de la concentración de AlTCPc sobre la superficie del semiconductor, dentro del rango de valores estudiados. También se estudió el efecto de la concentración de TiO2 modificado sobre la velocidad de reducción de Cr(VI), observándose un aumento de la misma con el aumento de la concentración del fotocatalizador. Se realizaron experimentos con concentraciones iniciales variables de 4-CP (0 / [4-CP] / 4 mM), determinándose que la presencia del compuesto orgánico era indispensable para la reducción de Cr(VI), pero que la velocidad inicial era independiente de la concentración de 4-CP utilizada. La reducción de Cr(VI) se ajustó en todos los casos a una cinética de primer orden, observándose que, una vez completada la reducción de Cr(VI), la degradación de 4-CP se detenía. Se detectó la formación de benzoquinona (BQ) como intermediario de la degradación de 4- CP. Se comparó la efectividad de 4-CP como donor, realizando experimentos comparativos con otros compuestos fenólicos; se comprobó que el fenol tiene una efectividad similar a la del 4-CP, que la BQ no es efectiva ya que no puede ser oxidada por el catión radical de la AlTCPc, mientras que la hidroquinona y el catecol reducen directamente al Cr(VI) antes de la irradiación. También se estudió para este sistema la evolución temporal de la especie intermediaria Cr(V), a través de su estabilización con ácido cítrico, observándose que el comportamiento cinético es el mismo observado para el sistema TiO2/Cr(VI)/Cit bajo irradiación UV, aunque la fracción del Cr(VI) reducido que es transformado en Cr(V) es significativamente mayor (50%, vs. 10% del sistema bajo luz UV). Finalmente, se evaluó el efecto de la longitud de onda de la irradiación utilizada sobre la eficiencia de utilización de fotones por el sistema para la reducción de Cr(VI), observándose una eficiencia mayor bajo irradiación UV o UV+visible que bajo luz UV. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of heterogeneous photocatalysis with TiO2 for the treatment of the pollutant Cr(VI) in aqueous phase, through its transformation into the less toxic species Cr(III). The effectiveness of heterogeneous photocatalysis with TiO2 under UV light for the reduction of Cr(VI) with the addition of citric acid (Cit) as electron donor agent was studied. The effect of the initial Cit/Cr(VI) molar ratio (RM) on the Cr(VI) reduction rate was studied (Cr(VI) = 0,8 mM, 0 ) RM ) 500); it was found that the addition of Cit facilitates the photocatalytic reduction, and that the rate of Cr(VI) conversion is a function of RM, with an optimal value at 1,25, although higher reduction rates at RM = 500 were found. The effect of pH on the Cr(VI) reduction was studied at RM = 2,5; it was observed that the reduction rate decreases as pH increases, with a change on the kinetics of Cr(VI) reduction from a first-order behavior (pH 2) to a biexponential rate (3 ) pH ) 6). It was noted that once Cr(VI) is completely reduced, Cit and NPOC degradation are arrested, which could be due to the inactivation of the catalyst by deposition of Cr(III) species on its surface. Electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements carried out on the TiO2/Cr(VI)/Cit system allowed to explain the initial stages of the photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction. It was confirmed that the reduction is initiated by an one-electron process forming Cr(V), which combines with Cit forming the Cr(V)-Cit2 complex. The quantitative measurements indicate that approximately 10% of reduced Cr(VI) is transformed into Cr(V)-Cit2, and that an increase in the Cit/Cr(VI) molar ratio increases the rate of Cr(V)-Cit2 formation up to a maximum at RM = 2,5, while the rate of disappearance of the complex decreases with increasing RM, due to its higher stability at higher Cit concentrations. The fraction of Cr(VI) transformed into Cr(V)-Cit2 is independent of the initial Cr(VI) concentration, but it decreases with increasing pH. The temporal Cr(V)-Cit2 evolution was adjusted to a first order kinetic model of formation and subsequent disappearance. We also studied the effectiveness of the heterogeneous photocatalysis with TiO2 modified with hydroxoaluminiumtricarboxymonoamide phthalocyanine (AlTCPc), an organic dye, for Cr(VI) reduction under visible irradiation (; > 500 nm), using 4- chlorophenol (4-CP) as electron donor agent. We evaluated the importance of TiO2 modified as active support of the dye by comparing the photocatalytic activity with an XVI equivalent sample where the dye was adsorbed on alumina (Al2O3), an inert support. It was observed that, under visible irradiation, the photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction only took place when the dye-modified TiO2 (TiO2-AlTCPc) sample was used, regardless the AlTCPc concentration on the semiconductor surface, at least in the studied range of values. We also studied the effect of the modified TiO2 concentration on the Cr(VI) reduction rate, noting an increase with the increasing photocatalyst concentration. Experiments were conducted with varying initial 4-CP concentrations (0 ) [4-CP] ) 4 mM), concluding that the presence of 4-CP was essential for the Cr(VI) reduction reaction, but the initial rate was independent of the used 4-CP concentration. The kinetics of Cr(VI) reduction was adjusted in all cases to a first order kinetics, noting that 4-CP degradation stopped after Cr(VI) reduction was complete. Benzoquinone (BQ) was the only detected intermediate compound for the degradation of 4-CP. We compared the effectiveness of 4-CP as a donor, carrying out comparative experiments with other phenolic compounds; it was found that phenol has a similar effectiveness to that of 4-CP, while BQ is not effective because it cannot be oxidized by the AlTCPc radical cation, while hydroquinone and catechol reduced directly Cr(VI) before irradiation. The temporal evolution of the intermediate Cr(V) species in the TiO2- AlTCPc/Cr(VI)/4-CP system under visible irradiation through its stabilization with Cit was also studied; the results showed the same kinetic behavior observed for the TiO2/Cr(VI)/Cit system under UV irradiation, although the reduced Cr(VI) fraction that is transformed into Cr(V) is significantly higher (50% vs. 10% for the system under UV light). Finally, we evaluated the effect of the irradiation wavelength on the efficiency of utilization of photons by the system for Cr(VI) reduction, founding a higher efficiency under UV irradiation or UV + visible than under UV light. Resumen: El objetivo de este trabajo de tesis fue estudiar la corrosión atmosférica de aleaciones base cobre, evaluando el efecto de los principales contaminantes presentes en la composición de la atmósfera de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, en relación a la conservación de monumentos expuestos a la intemperie. Los resultados obtenidos a partir de medidas in situ, en una primera etapa del trabajo, se completan con estudios de laboratorio en los que se evaluó el efecto de los contaminantes urbanos de mayor acción corrosiva sobre aleaciones de composición similar a las de los monumentos estudiados.
