  • Resumen es exacto "The civil work of an industrial building SMEs in CABA and province of Buenos Aires, and within it the lighting project, has always been considered as one investment within the profitable global schema entrepreneur.
The scope of work involves a significant complexity in terms of spaces and processes, making necessary but not sufficient the adoption of a generic methodology of lighting design and later verification regulations. Sometimes, it is considered the economic dimension of energy efficiency, but rarely the environmental dimension and much less the social one, taking into account that a worker spends the third part of his life at his job. The adoption of artificial lighting almost in exclusivity, has abandoned the use of some advantages that daylighting can offer.
In an industrial lighting project, if the variables concerning the human factor, their health and well-being are considered, integrating and balancing them with the variables leading to greater energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact, a guide to sustainable strategies will be achieved, which will establish not only the amount of light needed but also its quality
The main objective of this work will then be to build sustainable lighting strategies in industrial buildings. The parameters to be used to analyze sustainability will respond to the three dimensions of the problem –human or social, economic and environmental. Within the human dimension, the presence of natural light can be mentioned for the benefits in terms of its biological effects and visual performance as well as the appropriate characteristics in terms of quantity and quality of lighting in the workplace. In the economic dimension the presence of natural light (as savings in the use of equivalent artificial light), the performance of the lamps (as savings in power use), the efficiency of the installation (as savings in power), maintenance and replacement of elements and equipment (as long-term savings) and control in use (as savings when natural light is available or the premises are unoccupied) will be taken into account. Finally, in the environmental dimension, the emissions produced by different artificial lighting options and control in use will be considered, which also results in a reduction in emissions.
Within the specific objectives, the complimentarity between natural and artificial lighting will be analyzed as well as confort situation related to the visual effort and worker’s health, the incidence of lighting on performance, energy efficiency and its optimization with control mechanisms and the environmental impact of light systems.
Finally, this Thesis will develop a replicable methodological procedure in SMEs, in which the variables considered will be integrated, serving as a guide both in the Project instance and in the adjustment of the verification regulated by current protocols.
